Plant Trees for Climate Change Adaptation and Cleaner Air. Also prevents soil erosion and flashfloods. Wave buffer during tropical storms. Breeding, nursery and feeding areas for a great variety of life,  including endangered and threatened species. Carbon sink.

Calatagan in Batangas is a marine reserve, protected by the Samahan ng Maliliit na mga Mangingisda sa Calatagan (SAMMACA). About 66.5 percent of the reefs are classified as good corals with Hawksbill turtles known to nest at the Pagapas Bay. Dolphins are usually sighted in the area.

For those who want a noble experience, try mangrove tree planting in Calatagan, Batangas. One can take a look at all 15 species of mangroves as well as sea creatures, a treat for tourists who want to be reconnected with nature. For those who want to take a closer look, bamboo bridges have been put up at the Calatagan Mangrove Forest Conservation Park. You can also get a nice view of the mangroves and the pristine beaches that surround them through the area's guardhouses.
